wellness pratices

Despite some people trying to make being obese a “healthy thing”, Health, Fitness and Wellness have become a very popular thing over the past few years. And if you’re in the camp of people who believe that being overweight and having fat clogging your arteries as being “natural or healthy” – you need to take a long hard look at your life.

I’m not shaming anyone for being fat – on the contrary, it’s simply pointing out the facts. People who are obese have a higher propensity for diseases such as Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Clogged arteries, lower energy, etc.

While it’s also true that some people are overweight due to their metabolism or some other medical reason – the truth however is that the vast majority of the people who are unhealthy and overweight are so due to their own eating habits and lack of physical activities.

In the age where you can order a donut without having to leave your seat and utilizing the maximum effort of sliding your finger on a glass screen – being unhealthy, overweight, and unwell is incredibly easy. Especially when corporations and Big tech companies utilize smart algorithms to modify the information you are exposed to daily and to ultimately invoke a certain “standard of acceptance”.

Of course, on the other spectrum – we have health nuts that utilize things like Instagram to edify their health activities to near godlike levels. Perhaps it’s this hyper-exposure to these elements that creates these extreme results, or the forced advertisement designed to appeal to your weaknesses in order to inspire your actions to buy whatever product or service “they” sell you.

Today, we’re going to be taking a closer look at some of the easy to implement home remedies you can use today to increase your health and wellness.

This isn’t an article designed for people who struggle with weight, even though I used it as an example in the beginning. There are plenty of other unhealthy extremes such as drug abuse, the content you consume, and the people you hang out with. Today’s article is designed to help you begin a regimen of healthy behavior that will ultimately influence your life for good.

Cannabis for Health and Wellness

I have talked extensively about cannabis and wellness over the years. In fact, if you were to search Cannabis.net – you’ll probably find about half of the content is dedicated to some health or wellness and its relation to cannabis in one way or another.

Cannabis probably one of the best plants you can incorporate into your diet to maximize your health performance and overall wellness. This doesn’t mean smoking it either.

You can consume cannabis in its raw form to get many health benefits including;

  • Anti-Viral Effect

  • Anti-Bacterial Effect

  • Anti-Depressive Effect

  • Anti-Anxiety Effect

  • Mood stabilizer

  • Promotes bone health

  • Maintains Homeostasis in the body

  • Appetite stimulant

  • Anti-cancerous

  • Analgesic

  • Anti-epileptic

  • And much more

In total, cannabis is said to treat hundreds of conditions and illnesses.

Once more, you don’t have to smoke cannabis to obtain the benefits of using cannabis. Many people opt in for oils and tinctures, which generally don’t make you feel stoned at all. If you eat the raw cannabis plant, you get the benefits without the high. This is because in the raw form, most cannabinoids are still in their acid form. The acid form of the cannabinoids makes them non-psychoactive or in other words – it can’t get you high. Additionally, the bioavailability of the cannabinoids increases, meaning you can get greater doses of the cannabinoids this way.

When it comes to health and wellness, cannabis is a definite solid ally for anyone who is conscious about their habits.

Humming for Health

Humming for health is something that seems counter-intuitive, but it actually has a lot of science behind it. To explain the benefits of humming, we first have to look at a little thing called “Nitric Oxide”.

Nitric Oxide is sometimes called “The miracle molecule” due to the many different health benefits. Firstly, Nitric Oxide is a vasodialator, which means that increases blood flow. However, Nitric Oxide also can provide benefit;

  • Blood Circulation

  • Reduces Erectile Dysfunction

  • Healthier Blood Pressure

  •  Increased Energy and Stamina

  • Better Heart Health

  • Immune System support

  • Increased lung health

  • Anti-Viral, Anti-Bacterial properties

Here’s some information by researchers in relation to NO.

The study conducted by scientists at the Zoonosis Science Center at Uppsala University in Sweden has provided early evidence that Nitric Oxide can inhibit the replication of SARS-CoV-2 and hypoxia in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome. - SOURCE

Why not sit down and listen to the guy who discovered Nitric Oxide Dr. Ignarro Louis

In the video he explains at great length the benefits of Nitric Oxide. However, Nitric Oxide is only one benefits from humming. Most importantly, humming increases nitric oxide production by 15x. Nitric Oxide is naturally produced in the nasal cavities.

When you Hum for Health you also tap into some deep parasympathetic processes. For example, humming helps stimulate the Vagus Nerve – which helps induce a deep sense of relaxation, destressing, and much more.

All you need to do is about 5-10 minutes of humming per day to experience the physiological and psychological benefits of the practice.

Hemp for Health

Hemp is another super food that can help you get a lot of benefit, keep you healthy as well. Not to be mistaken with cannabis, which can be psychoactive, hemp provides many of the similar benefits of cannabis without the high.

Additionally, hemp is also a food, meaning that you can incorporate it into your diet to obtain a lot of the cannabinoids you want.

Here’s a few health benefits of hemp;

  • Good source of Protein

  • Good Source of Omega-3 and 6

  • Super Omega-6 Gamma Linolenic Acid

  • Super  Omega-3 Stearidonic Acid

In terms of nutritional value according to the USDA for 30grams of hulled hemp seed is;

  • Calories: 166

  • Fat: 14.6g

  • Sodium: 1.5mg

  • Carbohydrates: 2.6g

  • Fiber: 1.2g

  • Sugars: 0.5g

  • Protein: 9.5g

It also contains magnesium and provides roughly 50% of your daily needs and provides roughly 13% of daily iron requirements. Not to mention providing roughly 20% of daily Zinc needs.

As you can see, simply incorporating this into your diet will provide you with a massive nutriotional boost. However, many hemp products also contain phytocannabinoids which helps the endocannabinoid system.

Yoga

Finally, Yoga is something that everyone should do with cannabis. It should technically be mandatory or taught at school. Yoga in itself is a form of meditation, however it’s much more than that. This type of body work allows you to release stress and tension, remain supple and become acutely present in your body.

Considering that it’s a practice that has survived thousands of years – yoga is something that you should incorporate into your daily routine for at least 15-mins. You’ll feel significantly better because of it.

It’s also highly enjoyable doing it a bit high.

The Sticky Bottom Line

Being healthy is awesome. When you have seemingly unlimited energy and drive, you begin to behave differently. You enjoy life just a little bit more. Everything that I spoke about in this blog will make you feel “better” for simply doing it.

Wellness, health – all of these things are your personal responsibility. Eat right, move, fill those lungs with air, hum for a bit, go for a walk in the forest and stand on the ground barefoot. Sun gaze in the mornings, chant, play the digeridoo – start painting!

Life is for living – it’s your choice on how well you experience it.
