The High Achievers STEM Scholarship Program, sponsored by Cannabis.net, an EvergreenBuzz Media Group company, is open to students who plan to continue their education in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field. Applicants must be high school graduates who plan to or are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate level study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Cannabis.net wants to support and foster the innovative spirit of a motivated individual who may go on to advance the growth and pioneering nature of the Marijuana industry.
During 2016, at least 8 US states are expected to have some form of cannabis legalization on the ballot including California, Arizona, Massachusetts, Nevada, Florida, Ohio, Maine and Michigan. These states have close to 40% of the United States population and if these initiatives successfully pass, ArcView Market Research projects the cannabis industry could grow from $3.3 billion in 2015 to $10.2 billion in 2018. The growth of the budding legal cannabis industry necessitates the need to develop young minds to contribute to the field in the future. We want to to help!
Launched in 2016, Cannabis.net is a unique, fully integrated mapping and social media platform, focused on becoming the conduit between responsible users, patients and providers, providing a community hub for one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive approach to providing information, education and employment for stakeholders within the marijuana sphere. We offer opportunities for site visitors to be informed and entertained and business opportunities for growers, distributors, delivery services, doctors, lawyers and dispensaries and retailers alike.
Cannabis.net will present the receipient of the High Achiever Scholarship with $1,000 USD. This financial remuneration is to be used towards tuition fees related to a STEM course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Scholarship recipient is selected on a competitive basis with consideration of self-declared academic objectives and record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, and work experience.
Awards will be granted to the most qualified students regardless of geographic location. The selection process will not be influenced or affected by the actual or perceived race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, gender, or sexual orientation of any applicant.
