Hy Hybrid

Gelato

Overview:

Gelato is sometimes called “Larry Bird”, but they are the same strain. It is a hybrid strain that was bred by Cookie Fam Genetics by crossing two other hybrids, Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Sunset Sherbet. The name of the strain suddenly makes sense once you consider their sweet parent plants. The strain tastes sweet and floral. You will also note lavender undertones once you smoke it. The bud is deep purple with hairs the color of an overripe tangerine. After being tested, this strain is always high in THC, meaning that it is a bit of a heavy-hitter. Use carefully if you do not do well with stronger strains! Gelato is a euphoric, relaxed, happy strain. It also will make the user feel a jolt of creativity, so if you are in a creative field, Gelato may be for you. Some of the medical conditions it has been known to treat include stress, depression, pain, insomnia, and even fatigue. Because it takes on some sativa-like properties, the hybrid works better as a daytime strain. Unfortunately, Gelato has some negatives just like any other strain. Fortunately, neither of the side effects are that bad. Dry mouth and dry eye are the only reported cons that people that experienced with this strain.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids Could Be the Key to Unlocking the Maximum Benefits of Medical Cannabis

Our own endocannabinoid system feeds on omega-3 fatty acids so in the human body, they work extremely well together. The endocannabinoid system is much more regulated with adequate omega-3 fatty acid levels in the body, and enables it to metabolize cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and all the many other valuable cannabinoids in the plant that help us heal and stabilize our own systems. It’s also important to note that the active ingredients within the cannabis plant are fat-soluble, which means that they need fat to properly metabolize (this is also why cannabinoids bind so well to fat when making edibles!).

How Growing Cannabis is Affecting Air Pollution Numbers

Terpenes are classified as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). While VOCs are harmless alone, when they combine with combustion gases, like the nitrogen oxides produced by cars and industrial sources, they create ground-level ozone; the ‘bad’ kind of ozone that can trigger a variety of health problems for humans and animals. Crops like lavender also emit VOCs, but they’re not cultivated in greenhouses near highways, like cannabis is, particularly in Colorado, where most of production is located near two of the state’s main highways.

Is Solar Power the Future of Cannabis Growing if Electricity Is Such A Major Cost?

As regards indoor cannabis cultivation, it is estimated that all equipment used in the cultivation of high-quality buds in a grow room of 3.5m3 will use approximately 13,000 kWh of electricity annually. Furthermore, the equipment used to cultivate healthy and happy cannabis plants produces so much CO2. To have a clear picture, cultivating a kilo of cannabis bud will give 4.3 tons of CO2.
