Are you seeing a lot of spam in your iPhone calendar? Even when you use
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pdf-scanner-app-scan-docs-id/id1495971405 you can see ads there? The scammer could guess your Apple ID and start bombarding you with invitations. Or you accidentally subscribed to a spam calendar using a sketchy website.
However, you can use the following references to troubleshoot spam calendar invitations and subscriptions. Once you get rid of iPhone calendar spam, you'll see less clutter and fewer annoying calendar spam notifications.
Report or delete spam invitations
Declining an event invitation is not the right way to deal with iPhone calendar spam. This sends a reply back to the spammer and validates your email address, so you might get even more spam.
Instead, the iPhone's calendar app has the option to mark invitations as spam. You can use it to report suspicious activity and remove it from all your Apple devices.
Alternatively, you can add spam events to a separate calendar and safely delete them altogether. Or you can configure your iCloud settings to handle spam invitations outside of the calendar app.
Report spam invitations to spam
If you receive a spam invitation on your iPhone, the best way to get rid of it is to use the spam feature in the Calendar app. But it only appears in invitations from senders who are not in your contacts.
1. Find the invitation in the Calendar app and open it.
2. At the top of the Transaction Details page, tap Report Spam.
3. To report and delete the transaction, tap Delete and report as spam. Repeat all other invitations and you will probably never receive spam from the same sender.
Tip. You can also mark invitations as spam using iCloud Calendar (visit iCloud.com on a PC or Mac) or the Calendar app on your Mac. On the website, double-click the invitation and select Report spam. On a Mac, Ctrl-click and choose Report Spam from the context menu.
Add to a separate calendar and remove
In cases where the iPhone calendar notification spam option is not displayed, you can use a workaround instead. This involves adding invitations to a separate (new) calendar, after which that calendar is deleted. It should disappear from spam without notifying the sender.
1. Tap Calendars at the bottom of the Calendar app.
2. Select Add Calendar.
3. Give the calendar a name and select Done.
4. Open the Calendar app and open the spam event. Then tap Calendar.
5. Select the newly created calendar.
6. Repeat for any other spam events you want to add.
7. After you reset Spam, open the calendar and tap the information icon next to the new calendar.
8. Scroll down and tap Delete Calendar.
