What is it like to try CBD oil?
First Time Trying CBD Oil - What Should I Expect? from CannabisNet on Vimeo.
Here on Cannabis.net you’ve read about the wonders of CBD. Recently, with the FDA approving the first ever marijuana-based drug, you’ll be hearing more about CBD in the coming months.
Today however, I’m going to be talking to you about my own personal experience with CBD. While my ailments aren’t compared to those who suffer from epilepsy or chronic depression, I do suffer from Insomnia and stress [on occasions].
While I have had CBD in the past, they were mainly Hemp based…this time around I got marijuana derived CBD and let me tell you guys something…it’s fucking great!
Cannabis Based CBD – First Impression
I made a moonrock purchase recently and waited for my hookup to roll up to my house. Eventually he showed up with one of his buddies. We spoke and did the deal and then he told me, “Oh by the way, I have these CBD oil vials if you’re interested…”
I was.
I took a drop and could immediately feel the cannabinoids hug my tongue. It seeped in and I felt how the cannabinoids were rushing into my body.
The taste was pleasant, that hint of cannabis flavor you get in edibles…it tasted just like that. Eventually the oil was absorbed by my body and I kept on working.
About 15-20 minutes later I could feel this spike in my energy levels. I was sitting upright in my chair pounding away at the keyboard. Focused like a laser.
There was a calmness to my energy though. It was like having the effects of a Red Bull in terms of energy levels, but the calmness of an herbal tea. To be honest…it was a weird sensation but I loved it.
Eventually, my hookup left and I decided to use it for sleep later that night.
At first I couldn’t sleep….
I took the drops thinking it would knock me out, however…I was wide awake. My mind was racing. I had all these thoughts and clarity about me.
Eventually, I decided to simply go to bed. Turn off all distractions and lay there and wait for sleep. Usually, this would result in me tossing and turning for a few good hours before I finally fade into a coma.
Not this time though. It took me about 20 minutes to doze off into a peaceful slumber. I didn’t wake up once throughout the night and when my alarm clock went off at 8 AM, I felt refreshed.
Sure, I still looked like living hell because I am not a morning person, but my body felt rested.
Day 2 of CBD – Let’s Spike some Coffee
I’m a coffee fiend! I thought, “Why not put a few drops in my coffee?” So I did.
The oily liquid floated on the top and formed a large droplet. I took a sip of my coffee and the cannabinoid-infused cup of Java tasted mighty fine.
It took me about 10 minutes after that cup of Joe to be ready for work. Granted, I only slept about five hours the night prior.
Usually, due to my insomnia…I would be distracted all day. Lazy, slow…not able to focus on my work. This time around I felt like I was on Ritalin or something. I finished a heroic amount of work in little time with energy to spare.
I realized, the CBD is doing its job.
A writer’s crutch…
One thing that writers are known for is smoking or drinking. I’m not a big drinker, but damn can I smoke tobacco. A cigarette hanging off my lip, smoke dancing in the air and me lost in thought. This is how I’ve been writing for years.
The second day of CBD was different though. I noticed I was smoking less. In fact, I cut down 50% of my consumption that first day. I didn’t feel that monkey on my back screaming, “LIGHT ANOTHER ONE!”
Once more, the CBD impressed me. What would happen if I get some e-juice for my vaporizer and douse it with CBD oil? Would I be able to finally quit smoking…for the third time?
I will one day write a follow up about that journey but first I have to convince myself psychologically that I want to quit smoking cigarettes [almost there].
I was amazed how the CBD reduced my cravings. I knew that my body was working better, more efficiently and much more focused. I was loving it.
Why everybody should try CBD oil
I love weed. I love to get high. It helps with my creative processes and to blow off steam. However, I didn’t realize how much I loved CBD until I started consuming it daily. In fact, once in the morning and once at night.
I must admit, it’s a bit more difficult for me to get high with THC, seeing that CBD counteracts the psychoactive effects of THC. But I got moonrock so it ain’t nothing but a thang!
For me; CBD is like taking Adderall or Ritalin, Xanax, Ambien, Zoloft, Nicorette all rolled into one simple substance….without all of the negative side effects of the other drugs.
CBD is a dietary essential and from now on, I will always be investing in getting my CBD oils every month. Trust me…it’s totally worth it!
