Who Loves To Smoke Cannabis More Than You?

Are You The Snoop Dogg Or Tom Brady Of Pot Smoking?

Do you consider yourself and All Star cannabis smoker?  When you roll into room of smokers do they all just get quiet and wait to see what you have stashed in your pockets?   If you consider yourself the Tom Brady of weed smoking, perhaps you are only a legend in your own mind.   Check out this new interactive chart from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Department.  It is a chart based on responses from 2013 and 2014 on the adult population of each state as they asked about marijuana usage.

Here is a link to the full interactive chart, but some interesting tidbits.

Yes, it is only from 2013 and 2014, so we all know those percentages are way higher now.  Just look at the changes from 2014 until now, election time in November 2016.  Think of all the adults that have tried cannabis for the first time since 2014, traveled to Colorado and tried it, or just got a medical card and tried it since 2014.   To sum up, those percentages are all higher 24 months later, not lower.

Colorado, easy one, expected to be the highest with their progressive medical and recreational laws, but HOLY COW, check out the sleeper hits in Vermont and Maine!  East Coast!   I know all the Phish fans will say “No, duh!” about Vermont, but who knew about little old Maine being a bunch of stoner monkeys.   Maine is an economically disadvantaged state, and once you get off the oceans and lakes, it ranks as one of the poorest states in the US.   Combine that with the fact it was hundreds of miles of woodlands and lush forests for growing, and yes, you could see how Maine could be a pot lover’s paradise.

California, 14.4% estimate, coming in way to low.  I would be the “over” all day in Vegas on that one, and lay 30 cent juice on it.  That is easy money on that bet.

alabama weedmaps

South Dakota and Alabama coming in neck and neck on where “not to travel to get high”.  I guess “Roll Tide”, the Alabama fight song and theme is just that, “Roll Tide” and not “Roll anything else”.  An asterisk should go next to South Dakota.  If you only have 200 people in your state and 5 tried weed, it tends to statistically distort the percentages.

How about little old Rhode Island, tucked in between Massachusetts and Connecticut, pumping out an almost 20% hit rate.   I guess Providence college voted twice.

I wish the chart was updated to 2015 or into 2016 as there would be so much dark blue on there that Batman would think it was time to get high.
