How to Make the Healthiest Super Snack Ever: “The Atomic Health Bomb”
Health and Wellness have become trendier concepts over the past few years. There’s a general paradigm shift occurring globally, steering away from the artificial and placing more emphasis on the organic aspects of life.
But what is the ultimate goal of living a “healthy” life style? The obvious benefits include;
- More Energy
- Fewer illnesses
- Higher Cognitive Abilities
- Elevated Mood
- Better Performance Results (in general)
There’s probably a million more reasons why a “healthy lifestyle” is a good thing, but if we were to boil it all into one concept it would be; “To Perform at Optimal Levels”.
When we’re living a healthy and balanced lifestyle, getting all the nutrition, physical and intellectual and emotional stimulation, we have the ability to perform at our best. We believe that maintaining these optimal levels of nutrition and activity (stimulation); we create the conditions that cultivate “excellence”. And when we create and deliver things we are proud of – we feel good about it. We feel accomplished and “satisfied”.
Thus, everything we really do is to “enhance ourselves” by giving our bodies exactly what it needs.
We know that Cannabis is Essential for Health & Wellness
I know I’m preaching to the choir when I state the health benefits of integrating cannabis into your diet. Our endocannabinoid system is responsible for a myriad of bodily functions including;
- Pain Regulation
- Stress & Anxiety Management
- Immune System Regulation
- Memory
- Mood (anti-depressant)
- Neuro Regeneration
- Anti-Cancer Properties
- Appetite
- General Homeostasis
- Much more!
The list goes on. Since the Endocannabinoid system is responsible for so many different aspects of maintaining our health, it is literally a dietary essential to consume cannabinoids.
This is because after the age of 25, when the endocannabinoid system fully develops, the endocannabinoid production, or the cannabinoid that we produce in our own bodies, significantly decreases. This means that from this point, there is an endocannabinoid deficiency which will inadvertently begin to affect the performance of the endocannabinoid system.
Similar to how people consume vitamin supplements to help maintain their health, it is essential for adults above the age of 25 to integrate cannabinoids into their diet. Since cannabinoids such as THC & CBD and others mimic our own endocannabinoids, it is a good source for “external cannabinoids”.
This is obviously not a problem for people who do not have an issue with the psychoactive effects of cannabis. However, for people who do not want to get high, I’ll walk you through a method of getting all the cannabinoids you’d want – without ever “getting high”.
Let’s talk about Mushrooms for a second
Before I divulge the final recipe for the “Atomic Health Bomb”, we need to address another very important ingredient within the mix. While many people here might be very knowledgable about the health benefits of cannabis, mushrooms are undoubtedly other living organisms that were “made for human consumption”.
In fact, we share more genetic similarities to the powerful fungi than our primate cousins. One of the major benefits relate to its neuroprotective and neuro regenerative properties, however there are other benefits as well including;
- Promotes Nerve Growth
- Anti-Depressant
- Anti-Anxiety
- Speed up nerve recovery
- Protects against ulcers in digestive tract
- Reduces risk of heart attack
- Helps manage diabetes symptoms
- Anti-Cancer Properties
All of these benefits relate to several edible mushrooms like “Lion’s Mane”. However, institutions like John Hopkin’s are currently looking into psilocybin – a psychoactive tryptamine that can make you hallucinate.
Modern research is suggesting that these psychoactive compounds are able to deal with mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and much more. There are currently plenty of clinical trials being conducted utilizing psychoactive mushrooms.
And even though certain mushrooms might be “illegal”, for the most part their spores are totally legal. There are only a handful of states where certain mushroom spores are illegal such as California. Thus, prior to making the “Atomic Health Bombs”, make sure that you have done the research to clear yourself from any legal mishaps.
Furthermore, cultivating your own mushrooms at home is actually not as difficult as you might imagine. There are plenty of tutorials online where you can find everything you need to cultivate your own mushrooms at home.
In total, you should not spend more than $200 to get a large yield of some truly potent mushrooms. You would be able to grow both edible mushrooms like Lion’s Mane, and psychoactive mushrooms like Psilocybe Mexicana (Magic Mushrooms) with that budget. Probably get a few pounds while you’re at it.
Couple this with a personal cannabis grow, and you’ve got the ingredients to make Atomic Health Bombs.
So let me talk to you about the AHBs!
Atomic Health Bombs
I’ve written about making cannabis infused power balls, utilizing cacao, peanut butter and a slew of other things. In essence, it’s the same deal – except we’re adding in a few extra ingredients. If you want me to write about “creating the optimal microdose” with magic mushrooms, I can, but for now just take into consideration that the “measurements” I’m giving you is for a single microdose per ball.
Here’s what you’ll need: (For 24 Balls)
- 1 Cup of Raw Oats
- ½ cup of peanut butter
- ½ cup of Hemp Seeds
- 1/3 Cup of Honey
- 24 “doses” cannabis oil (activated) (You can also opt in for CBD/THC oil if it’s available)
- 1 Tbs. Chia Seeds
- 1 tbs of Cacao Powder
- 24 x (0.2 g dehydrated psilocybe Mexicana)
- 24 x (0.8g dehydrated Lion’s Mane)
Instructions:
Mix the Oats, Peanut Butter, Hemp Seeds, Honey, Cocao Powder, Chia Seeds and Honey all together into one bowl. Make sure you get a uniform consistency. You can add dry fruit such as raspberries or any other fruit in this process as well.
Once you have made a mix, roll out 24 balls on a tray. Be sure to cover the bottom of the tray with parchment paper.
Once you have rolled out 24 balls, you’ll take 1 dose of cannabis (or a singular drop) and add it to one of the balls. Then, you’ll add in 0.2 grams of psilocybe Mexicana to it and 0.8 grams of dehydrated Lion’s Mane. Rework the ball until you have properly mixed everything into a uniform consistency and then place it on the tray.
Repeat this step with the remaining 23 balls until you have infused all of them with the cannabis and mushroom mixes.
Place the tray in the freezer and after one hour, they will be ready for consumption.
How to eat them
Firstly, if you stick to “Just eating 1 per day”, you’ll never feel high. You won’t trip out, you won’t feel any negative effects. On the contrary, you should be far more energetic and you should have a very agile mind.
I’d recommend starting off with lower frequency doses to start with (perhaps 2 times per week) and then eventually settling in on a “one day on/one day off” approach.
This should be consistently promoting neural growth, and provide a myriad of other health benefits.
I’m currently in the process of growing my first shroom culture, and once I crop out my new cannabis grow – I aim to dedicate a good portion of it for infusions of this kind.
