What to do when you’re not getting high anymore?

If you’re a regular smoker, you’ll eventually reach a point where you just don’t get as “high as you used to. This is okay, your tolerance has reached a level where you need a whole lot more to get high and even then, you might only be high for a short while.

Don’t worry however, there are many things you can do to reset your body and feel the beautiful sensation of euphoria that only Mary Jane can deliver.

Go on a Weed Fast

If you’ve been smoking blunts and joints daily for the past few years, perhaps it’s time to take a small break. For a week or two you can abstain from partaking and drink loads of water, do exercise and flush your system. Seeing that marijuana isn’t really addictive and that only 8%-9% of people develop aphysical dependency, it’s really easy to stop smoking.

Unlike cigarettes, you won’t have a cracked out monkey on your back or the physical withdrawal that you get from nicotine. You might be a little agitated for a day or so, but that is easily managed and by day three you won’t have the slightest problem to abstain.

When I go on a weed fast I typically try to stick to a 21-day period. This is enough for me to completely rid myself of my elevated tolerance. Once I have finished my period of fasting, I simply roll myself a blunt or pack a bong and let it rip. That first toke is usually to the same level of when you first started smoking. Those newbie highs as I call them.

A Toke a Day

Another issue I found with the “not getting high” dilemma was that if I smoked in the morning, by night time I wouldn’t get high anymore. I love my wake and bake sessions, however when I’m working I prefer to be sober throughout the day. I gave up my wake and bake toke and replaced it with my “victory toke”. The toke I do at the end of the day when I finished all my tasks of the day.

When I made this switch, I quickly discovered that if my first toke of the day is at the end of the day, I will get high every single time…no matter how much I smoke per day. I found this a great way to maintain efficiency within my work environment while still obtaining all the benefits of cannabis smoking.

If you’re not getting high anymore, perhaps you should start by relinquishing your morning toke and make your first spark of the day at the end of your day.

Eat some Mangos

If you want to increase the effect of the THC in your weed, increasing your myrcene intake can help.  Eating mangos roughly 30 minutes before you start toking up should do the trick. This will increase the myrcene since mangos also naturally contain it.

After you ate the mango, toke up and enjoy the elevated experience. And even if the effect isn’t as powerful as expected…you still had a yummy mango to munch on.

STRAINS TO SMOKE

Get more potent weed

When you’ve maxed out your tolerance levels on a particular strain, the easiest way to get high again is by changing the strain. You could even elevate the potency by getting your hands on some wax or even an edible. Sometimes just changing the method of consumption can have an effect on your high. If you smoke joints all the time, why not pack a bong or vaporize some weed to give yourself a completely different high. Perhaps this last piece of advice is a bit subjective, but it’s always worked for me.
