One of the interesting tidbits is that over 1 in 5 people actually don’t know how much CBD they take in a given day or dosage. Basically, over 7 out of 10 people are making up their own dosages in a “trail and error method”, and over 1 in 5 aren’t sure how much they took at the end of the day.
This points to a glaring need for medical advice, or guidance, on the CBD dosage level that primary care doctors are either not giving or not aware of their patients taking CBD itself. While the cannabis plant is not studied in medical school, and only in the last 5 years have we seen medical quality studies starting on the effects of CBD, many people, including doctors, just don’t know much about the plant and its cannabinoids. It is hard to tell people dosages and levels when there isn’t much concrete dosage and effect information to doctors and medical professionals to call on and review.
For now, CBD may be settling down and lab testing is getting much better, but the dosage side is still the Wild West. Much like THC-based cannabis, it is “try a small amount, see how it goes, then try a bigger amount”, and see how your body responds. Trial and error reigns supreme in the hemp and cannabis world until full Federal legalization kicks in and studies can be done on varying age-groups and dosages to form a solid curriculum around “how much” and “how often”.
