Why Cannabis is ABSOLUTELY NEEDED in this Insanity We Call Life

How Cannabis Help Deal with the Insanity that Life Can Bring at Any Time... from CannabisNet on Vimeo.

Carl Sagan said it the best; "The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world."

It seems these days that no matter where you look, there is some sort of carnage being displayed. Whether we’re talking about the insanity that is global politics, mass murders, wars and rumors of wars and an ever encroaching state aiming to rid the individual of their civil rights.

Not to mention, we have a great ideological divide currently sweeping the world. On one hand, you have radical nationalist tendencies sparking up all over the world and on the other hand you have fascists trying to impose moral law and subjective justice as the law of the land.

You look online for answers and it becomes increasingly more difficult to spot bullshit from truth and the underlying laziness of humanity, where people hardly fact check their resources, spread misinformation like a highly contagious STD.

Technology is enveloping absolutely every aspect of life, connecting people and ideas from across the planet. There’s a tug-o-war between the ideals of the free individual and the conglomerate values of the state.

In other words…the World is fucking insane.

Getting Caught in the Game

There is something fundamentally wrong with the way modern society functions. We are taught from a young age that our self-worth is measured in material objects. If you have a large bank account, a nice car and a good job…you’re supposed to be happy!

We’re constantly being bombarded with social role models that value only the material and evades all spiritual growth within the individual. Television, music and all forms of popular entertainment reinforces the values of a system that considers “citizens” as mere cogs in a machine.

We’re are taught that success is status, that fulfilment is obtained through the pursuit of base pleasures. Our purpose is defined by our job titles. Our values dictated by ideologically motivated institutions mindfucking the masses to submit themselves to causes that only empower the very institutions selling the lies.

As we progress through life, we begin to buy into the game. We substitute our own happiness for a sense of belonging. And if anyone dares to step out of the boundaries of what is considered “permitted life” within the boundaries of the system…they are chastised and ridiculed.

The problem with this way of living is that it turns people into assholes. We become apathetic to life. We stop believing in the beautiful and submit ourselves to the miserable narrative being shoved down our throats.

Stop…Breathe

I have long held the belief that cannabis is a gateway drug. Before you lose your shit…let me explain myself.

I believe that loosens the chains of paradigm instilled by the system. It allows you to begin to see the strings attached to the puppets. It helps to lift the veil and to look behind the curtain to see that the entire “game” is nothing but an illusion.

It’s a gateway to questioning the very purpose of your being. This, at least in my own personal experience, takes the cannabis user down a rabbit hole of discovery. Challenging the very concepts designed to keep you in order…a cog in the machine.

Yet, when you smoke cannabis…suddenly ideas such as hating someone based on the color of their skin becomes more ridiculous the more you think about it. The myths of society become easier to identify and before you know it…you start wondering about your own happiness…your own purpose.

Cannabis helps people become more empathetic. They become more tolerant. They feel more connected to the ethereal. You become more aware of surroundings and stop looking at the “game”.

I personally believe that this is one of the reasons why, despite all of the support and evidence for legalization, it still remains illegal. The CIA tried to use cannabis for mind control back in the 1960s only to find that it does the opposite. It rather acts as an inoculant to mind control.

This is precisely why cannabis is absolutely needed in this chaotic world.

What happens when everybody believes they are right

One of the greatest lessons cannabis taught me was that I know absolutely nothing. The more I learn the less I know. This helps me stay humble. It reminds me that I don’t know everything and that my position is merely a subjective interpretation of reality, filtered through my own paradigms to create ‘my reality’.

I no longer get offended if someone brings contrary views to my attention. I simply chose to pursuit a path of truth, irrespective of my beliefs.

When everyone believes they are right, and are incapable of listening to the other side…war is the result. Chaos and violence ensues and the world spirals into oblivion.

Cannabis isn’t the answer to the world’s problems, but it can definitely help us make this world better by breaking the chains of paradigm that enslave our choices down the road. It’s time we stop playing the game being presented to us and embrace our own games. Our own delusional life systems crafted to suit our needs and impulse us to find happiness.

It’s not that the world “wants” cannabis legal…it’s that it “needs” it legal.
