Welcome to the first installment of Beer & Weed! I may not be the best cannabis toner or enjoy it as much as some, but I do love my beer and edibles. So from time to time I plan on writing about my weekend ventures and hope you can get some enjoyment from them and more importantly, take the opportunity to dabble yourself and share your pairings!
This weekend was a rough one! I had an all day speaking engagement on Saturday, the New England Cannabis Convention (NECAN.com) all day Sunday and my 7 and 4 year old nephews in between! And trust me when I say the lecture and convention were the easiest part of the days! Wow do those boys have some energy and hate sleeping past 6am and refuse to go to bed before 11pm!
So after going to the arcade, playing laser tag, basketball, swimming and the water slide, and playing hide and seek, I was ready for a chill evening!
I poured myself an amazing American IPA 6.80% ABV by TreeHouse Brewery (TreeHouseBrewery.com) from Monson MA called Alter Ego. Alter Ego has a smooth yet hoppy and citrusy flavor. Absolutely amazing and voted 100 out of 100 on Beer Advocate (BeerAdvocate.com). For the edibles, I decided to take some gummies by MaGooch (GBMaGooch.com) that were 2.5mg of CBD and only 1mg of THC.
The combination was superb and exactly what I was looking for. I certainly was not going for flavor, but an immense chill pill and that is how the evening went - a complete leveling out of the day, ending with a big 'ole smile!
