Having worked OUTSIDE the cannabis industry for his whole life with some of the most famous entrepreneurs alive, he was intrigued by the legalization of marijuana and decided to venture into the field, half out of curiosity and half to see if he could help take a marijuana company public.

Having taken professional c-suite companies into the public world, Dean does not hold back on letting the back-room startup guys they have no businesses running a “real” company. He does give the early startup trailblazers their due, saying the industry had to start somewhere and it would not have gotten to this stage of public companies without all the hard work of the original OG guys.

Dean is not shy about his love of golf and flying, which he can now combine with his best friend and wife, as they fly around America to try different golf courses. Will the cannabis industry mature in the way that Dean predicts or are we in for more crazy surprises until we finally see Federal legalization? Dean argues that the industry will not take that next step until real C-suite executives come from outside the industry and set up dependable, and most importantly, trustworthy, executives.
