Pasta is one of the best comfort foods out there. No matter what kind of pasta you love,  there’s no doubt that eating a plate full of delicious pasta will always feel like a hug especially when it’s infused with some cannabis.

When it comes to pasta sauce, pesto is one of the yummiest and healthiest sauces out there. Pesto sauce comes from Genoa, Italy – a country whose cuisine is loved worldwide. This simple, humble green sauce only has a few basic ingredients but it always makes a healthy addition to any diet, particularly because of the basil and garlic. Pesto sauce is packed with vitamins, minerals, and proteins – not to mention the fact that it’s made with good fat. Infuse your pesto sauce with cannabis and you’ve got one delicious, healthy Italian dish that you can make in just a few minutes.

The main ingredient in pesto sauce is basil, which is also known as one of the world’s healthiest herbs.

How To Use Pesto Sauce

Aside from being healthy and delicious, pesto sauce is extremely versatile. For the classic pesto pasta, add the sauce to spaghetti. Pesto also clings well to other pasta varieties such as gemelli, fusilli, strozzapreti, trofie, and caserecce. Finish it off with parmesan sauce.

There are so many ways you can use this super green sauce, aside from just in pasta. Here are suggestions for things you can do with your cannabis-infused pesto sauce:

  • Dip: Add some soft cheese and a few tablespoons of pesto sauce. Makes an excellent dip for breadsticks, sourdough, toasted whole wheat bread, rye, or focaccia.
  • Pizza: Spread some pesto to your pizza base; it will go well especially if your pizza recipe contains mozzarella, mushrooms, peppers, and artichokes.
  • Eggs: Have you ever tried pesto and eggs? If you haven’t, you’re missing out. Pesto can be overpowering but for a blank canvas like eggs the possibilities are endless. Some ways you can integrate pesto with eggs include adding them to an omelet and deviled eggs.
  • Breadcrumbs: If you have stale bread lying around, make some great-tasting breadcrumbs by adding pesto, lemon, and olives. Spread the breadcrumbs onto chunky white fish, then bake. The breadcrumbs will also go well with chicken fillet and mushrooms.
  • Couscous: This grain takes a lot of creativity to make it tasty, but the strong flavors of pesto will transform it in a delicious base. Add some vegetables, cheese, meat, and you’re all set.
  • Grilled cheese: A little pesto will go a long way in giving you an extremely tasty but unique grilled cheese sandwich!
  • Bruschetta: With some cherry tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, and caramelized onions this bruschetta will be gone in no time.
  • Potatoes: Toss your potatoes in pesto, add some bacon bits and mozzarella and roast it in the oven for a healthy, tasty roasted potato dish.
