In the old days, people wanting to enjoy a stress-free cannabis friendly vacation had very few options. That’s why many people flocked to the marijuana haven of Amsterdam. These days, though, more and more places are beginning to legalize or decriminalize cannabis use, making cannatourism a very fast-growing industry and providing plenty of great new locales for marijuana lovers to enjoy some bud and the beach at the same time. Check out some of these hot new destinations if you’re looking for a place to take your summer vacation:
U.S. Virgin Islands
You won’t even need a passport to enjoy the sunny shores and unspoilt nature of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Comprised of three small islands in the Caribbean, the U.S. Virgin Islands offer a little something for everyone- whether you enjoy the nightlife or nature walks or some of the best scuba diving sites on the planet. Though the islands are of course under the legal jurisdiction of the United States federal government, cannabis has been decriminalized on the islands without much fanfare. This means that visitors and residents can now possess up to an ounce of marijuana at a time without fearing imprisonment. There could be a fine associated with being caught with that much, but it won’t ruin your vacation. A little discretion and responsible use will ensure that that doesn’t become a problem for you, though. Cambodia

Cannabis is still technically illegal in Cambodia, but nevertheless it is one of the country’s biggest exports and locals openly smoke it, cook with it, and use it medicinally. Uruguay
Uruguay is quickly becoming a cannatourist’s paradise. Soon, its cannatourism industry may rival even that of Amsterdam which has long reigned supreme. This is because Uruguay offers miles of beautiful beaches, historical sites, and gorgeous landscapes. It would be an attractive choice to any vacationer, but the cherry on top is that Uruguay has recently become the first country to legalize cannabis at the federal level. Residents are permitted to buy, grow, and use marijuana freely, and while tourists aren’t technically allowed to buy any for themselves, chances are good that you’ll meet a friendly resident willing to give you some as a gift. These people are abundant in airports, at hotel desks, or even in cabs, but if you’d rather not leave it up to chance, you can always make arrangements to stay in a Bud and Breakfast where both accommodations and cannabis will be provided by your host.
