Dislike smoking by yourself? Your wishes have been heard: The folks over at these app companies lets you smoke with other potheads remotely and share your experiences.
Getting high socially is one of the most pleasurable things in life. Next to the munchies, you have to have your friends when lighting a bowl, right?
The people over at Toke With know exactly what you mean. That’s why they developed the Toke With App, a new live video streaming platform designed for the cannabis community. Toke With works by providing a platform for short-form content designed for the wide spectrum that makes up the marijuana-using population. According to the website, Toke With aims to provide authentic content for consumption of the cannabis community. The content used can provide a connection between two users as well as also serve as a source of entertainment.
Think of the app as Periscope or Snapchat, but for the consuming market. Live video can easily be created, curated, then sent to a list of your toking buddies. Toke With is really easy to use: all you need to do is open the app, click on the button to view the live stream, then watch videos. All users can follow each other, create short-form videos, schedule broadcasts, and go live.
More than simply being a fun and interactive app, Toke With also intends to use the platform to discuss important relevant issues haunting marijuana legalization such as health and pot policy, according to an interview with SFGate.
Users are also encouraged to follow Toke With through their social media pages to stay informed about the latest promotions, events, and relevant news in the cannabis industry.
The Toke With app is free and is already available for both iTunes and Android.
Cannabis enthusiasts also now have Duby, which combines the features available in many popular social apps today: photo sharing (Instagram), up or down voting (Reddit), and dating interface (Tinder). On Duby, users can share their favorite pot strains and paraphernalia with others who share the same passion.
The fun part comes when you can share content on the app in the form of text, video, or images which viewers can then vote on by swiping left or right. When you swipe right, it means “pass the Duby” but when you swipe left, it means “put it out”.
Each new user on Duby begins with an influence rating of 3, and each time they light up a Duby it is passed on to 3 others users in their location. When these people pass the Duby, the new user’s influencer rating increases, and each Duby reaches more members which then gives everyone the opportunity to become more influential socially. On the other hand, if too many people swipe left or choose to put out the Duby then the user’s score will drop.
Duby encourages users to follow them online to receive updates. They also curate their own marijuana-related news called “Weed Worthy”.
The Duby app is free and already available on both iTunes and Android.
