New York’s Struggling MMJ Program Get A Buzz Thanks To Vimeo Delivery
Vireo Health of New York finally gets the OK to start delivery of medical marijuana to patients. This is a milestone event since it’s the first service of its kind to get approval to deliver in NY.
The go-signal for Vireo’s operations came after a new state regulation was created, with the intention of giving New York’s ailing MMJ program a much-needed boost. Thanks to the new regulations, MMJ will now be more accessible to patients.
In a press release, Vireo Health announced that deliveries will start in 90 days although pricing as well as other details will be announced later on. Vireo is one out of 5 companies who are licensed to cultivate, produce, and distribute MMJ in New York. State regulations prohibit cannabis businesses in New York from outsourcing their services; 2 Vireo employees are given the responsibility of personally taking care of each MMJ delivery, which adds another layer of safety and security for all deliveries. Vireo delivery vehicles will also be equipped with GPS tracking and other safety features.
Vireo’s program is also dubbed “from our greenhouse to your front door”, a testament to the company’s dedication to top quality and fresh MMJ medications for all their patients. Physicians, pharmacists, and security experts worked together to create the delivery program so that homebound patients can get the care that they need, especially those with debilitating and life-threatening diseases. The initial deliveries will cover 8 counties in New York, which includes all the 5 boroughs of New York as well as Long Island and Westchester.

MMJ deliveries were approved by New York officials last August as part of several measures taken by the state health authorities to improve the state medical marijuana program, which hasn’t been as effective even though it’s been launched over a year ago.
