Here’s Five Halloweed Costumes For Trick or Treat Night
We’re quickly approaching that time of the year where adults dress up in ridiculous outfits expressing a part of their personality they hide the rest of the year. Within the world of weed, we have seen an evolution of cannabis-themed costumes and today I’ll be sharing five unique ones that is pretty easy to pull off.
The Baked Potato
The Baked Potato is not flattering at all. This is definitely not going to win you best costume at the event you’re going to. However, it might get you a bunch of joints and a few laughs. The concept is quite simple. Get a black body suit, take some brown paper sheets (you know those industrial ones) and cut it in an oval shape to cover your head all the way down to your hips. Cut out a hole in the top for your face.
Then simply stick on two “stoned eyes” next to your head hole, decorate it to look like a potato. Roll a fake spliff. You’re golden.
It’s not genius…but it is funny.
The Pot Head
Once more, a play on words. This one is easy but still a classic. All you need to pull this one off is to get a pot (for plants) the size of your head. Turn it into a hat. You’re done!
The genius of this costume is that it’s definitely the amount of effort a real pot head would put into a costume. So we’re not sure whether you’re making a joke, or if this is who you really are.
Of course, this is not an eye catcher. You’re not going to make people respect you for the depth you put into your costume…BUT…it is a costume anyone can pull off in less than an hour. Also, it’s probably going to be a bit uncomfortable throughout the evening trying to balance that thing…but have fun!
The Grim Reefer
This one is a bit more nuanced. It takes the classic “Grim Reaper” approach in terms of outfit, except you’ll be changing the scythe into a ‘joint scythe’ and instead of having a skull for a face…you get some dreadlocks.
Depending on how much work you want to put into it…the Grim Reefer is definitely better (in terms of appeal) than the previously mentioned. What I like about it is that it still revolves around the “Halloween” theme, except you know…weed.
It’s something you don’t see often when it comes to weed outfits, however I think it’s definitely one of the more underappreciated cannabis related costumes. Perhaps, we’ll see more Grim Reefers this Halloweed.
Any Weed Icon
Let’s see. We’ve got Cheech and Chong, Wilfred, Workaholics, anyone from Half Baked, The Dude, Snoop Dogg from Soul Plane, Jay or Silent Bob…the list goes on.
While this isn’t exactly “weed costumes”, they do represent the counter-culture. What’s cool about these costumes is that you won’t have to do a lot of fabrication and you’ll be comfortable throughout the evening.
This is a staple in every stoner costume for those who don’t have the time to fabricate an elaborate costume to stun the masses. If you got the right colors, you’re golden.
The Weedsquach
This is a bit more relevant. In the beginning of 2017, the weedsquach appeared on T.V. Of course, not everybody will know what the hell it is, but you will know!
The WeedSquach is basically a Ghillie suit. It’s that simple. You could pimp it out by making a few strands of “Ghillie” red to typify you’re a nug. Nonetheless, with this costume, even if the cops come to bust down the party because of too much weed smoke…you can simply hide in the bushes and fade away into the backdrop.
I added the WeedSquatch mainly because of the stunt the original weedsquach pulled off on television. I think we deserve to pay some respect to that dude for giving us all something to laugh at on live T.V.
What about you?
Now that I’ve given you five ideas, I’d love to hear what you guys have in mind for this halloweed. It’s a time of the year where we can all let loose and enjoy a bit more of our creative side. If you have a great idea, why not share it in the comment section and let’s see how many people will take you up on your idea.
I for one am still uncertain if I am going to dress up or do something. I’d rather just smoke weed and enjoy myself like I would every other day of the week, but maybe this year I’ll pull off something unique.
So what do you have in mind for this Halloweed? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
