Pax 3 Vaporizer Review
Created by PAX Labs, the Pax 3 is a portable dry herb vaporizer that sets the bar way high when it comes to vaporizers. You can use it with dry herbs and concentrates, which means that you get a dual use vaporizer.
One of the most popular vaporizer manufacturers, PAX Labs released this 3rd generation PAX recently. While not many changes have been made to its appearance, the Pax 3 is packed with an updated design, a few smarter features and improved vaping quality.
While the Pax 2 is still a stellar vaporizer, you should definitely check out the popular Pax line’s third iteration. It stays true to what made everyone love the Pax so much in the first place – a sleek and elegant look and feel, portability and discreteness, ease of use and excellent reliability and warranty.
It also has a number of salient features like temperature settings, quick cleaning and easy maintenance, functionality, battery life and the all-new smartphone app for this vaporizer that allows you to regulate the vaporizer’s temperature settings.
Pax 3 Chamber Covers
The Pax 3 comes with a heating chamber or oven at the bottom for inserting your dry herbs or even a liquid concentrate. It features three different chamber covers or oven lids – two of these are for dry herbs while one is for concentrate.
- Oven Lids for Dry Herbs: The Pax 3 comes with two different dry herb oven lids– the half oven lid and the full oven lid. The thickness of the inserts is what makes these oven lids different from one another. You can still obtain a wonderful experience with the half oven, even if you are using only a small amount of dry herb. Having the option of choosing between half and full oven is excellent as it gives you better control over the amount of material you would like to expand, which makes the Pax 3 an awesome vaporizer for weed.
- Oven Lid for Concentrate: Specifically for concentrates, the third oven has a canister attached to the cover for placing your concentrate. The cover’s bottom is a little thicker compared to the dry herb oven lids. When the canister is opened, you will find a space with 2 air holes to place your concentrate. You do not need to put a lot of concentrate into the canister – just make sure that you do not get any wax near or in the air holes.
After testing it, we found that the Pax 3 is an excellent vaporizer for weed. While it can accommodate your concentrate, it is not a substitute for your wax pen or oil pen. However, its sleek design ensures that you can transport your device anywhere and discreetly too.
Build Quality:
When it comes to build quality, the Pax 2 and Pax 3 are not very different. Features like the mouthpiece and the heating chamber are the same in both devices. The finish is the only difference between the two vaporizers. The brushed aluminum finish is no more – it now comes with a glossy coat.
The only thing we can complain about when it comes to the changes in the park's 3’s appearance is that the glossy finish tends to attract fingerprints. But other than that, there are no major issues with the Pax 3’s build – it looks and feels amazing and will last a long time. Unlike when watching Jurassic World, you will get your money’s worth!
Portability:
The Pax 3, like the Pax 2, is compact and portable. It fits perfectly in your pocket, and you can be as discreet as you want when vaping, which is always useful. The Pax 3 also comes with a new feature – the stealth mode. With this mode, you can dim the brightness of the logo light and also cool the oven between each draw to reduce the odor emanated, so you can have a more private experience when you are vaping. You can also reduce the odor by interchanging the stealth mode with a low-temperature setting.
Functionality:
The Pax 3 is extremely user-friendly. The power button is located in the center of the mouthpiece on top of the device. All you have to do is push it once and the Pax 3 will turn on and start heating up. While it is heating up, the LED will flash purple and will turn green once it is ready. When you want to turn the power off, all you have to do is push the power button once more.
Another thing that makes the Pax 3 really functional is the magnetic charger that conveniently snaps in place. You can say goodbye to small micro USBs that you have to plug in the dark – we think that this makes it super convenient!
Performance and Vapor Quality:
It is relatively easy to prepare the Pax 3 for dry herb use. Although it is worth mentioning that before prepping your vaporizer, you should purchase a decent grinder. When you make sure that your bud is properly prepared, there will be a noticeable difference in your vape quality.
You can use the Multi-Tool included in the Pax 3 kit to make sure that you dry herb is packed tightly while still allowing air to flow into the oven. Remember that you have the full oven and half oven options – you can still get that unique experience with the half oven but with less flower.
With dry herb, the Pax 3’s performance is ideal, and it is really easy to load the oven. However, you should note that with concentrates, the performance is a little lacking. This is not a major issue if you use more of dry herbs than concentrates.
Overall, the Pax 3 vaporizer is an excellent dry herb vape. It is fantastic for beginners as it is easy to use, but vaping veterans will also appreciate the intuitive interface, user-friendliness and stealthy composition. It is functional and reliable, and you just cannot get past its fine looks. You should approve of the new features that the Pax 3 comes with. Without a doubt, the Pax 3 is currently one of the best dry herb vaporizers available on the market.
